Theme:
Baseline technique

Main goal:
Improve expansive footwork (movement around the court, positioning, re-positioning)
Secondary aim:
Service technique (regularity)

Main Session 1-hour:
10’ : Rallies within the service lines without hitting hard and without expanding the game. Keep control of the ball with your hands. All shots must be executed from a balanced, two-footed solid foundation.

10’ : Improve expansive footwork technique (court coverage, adjustments, repositioning, rhythm). Baseline rallies. 1 player defends their half-court hitting two cross-court shots followed by 2 down the line. Always reposition yourself with a solid two-footed foundation before your opponent returns and before you move towards your next shot. Don’t hesitate to give yourself some recovery time if necessary. If you make too many errors (1 shot in 3), slow the game down. 5 mins work per player.

10’ : Same as previous exercise but in the opposite court.

10’ : Butterfly exercise: Player one hits everything cross-court. Player 2 hits everything down the line. Always reposition yourself with a solid two-footed foundation before your opponent returns and before you move towards your next shot. Don’t hesitate to give yourself some recovery time if necessary. If you make too many errors (1 shot in 3), slow the game down.

10’ : Serve on both sides of the court. Concentrate particularly on your starting position right up to your Trophy position. Stay as relaxed and as well-balanced as possible.

10’ : Open play. Play points beginning with a serve.
