SR 990 Squash Racket

At Princes Sports Club, we are lucky to have a partnership with the Decathlon Sheffield store.
They provided us with the full range of adult Artengo rackets for the coaches and players to try out.
The two stand out rackets; the ones that always go first in our junior coaching sessions are 'The White One' (960) and 'The Black One (990).
They are light enough for our intermediate and advanced juniors to use from about the age of 8.

Great value for a good racket

I've been using this racket for a few weeks now, spending 15+ hours on court each week (coaching & playing) has given me a good opportunity to get to know the racket. From the first hit it played well for me, plenty of power and good feel. It's a fairly stiff racket with little vibration or flex so you need to hit the middle of the strings to get the most from it but any team player should be doing this regularly so definitely worth a try.

Slightly on the heavier side, the weight on the racket doesn't add up to the actual weight, a bit confusing, it feels like it's about 135/140 grams.

Where it could improve; the string, it just doesn't have much feel, I've already put new string in the racket. Be good to see Decathlon either invest in better string or offer a stringing option at point of sale as the stores seem to have stringing machines in most of them.

Saying all this, it's a nice racket to hit with and good value for money.

What a great racket for the price. Very similar to other well known makes, but half the price. Perfect balance.

In terms of quality it is as good as any other top of the range racket I have used in my total of 10 years playing high level squash. I look forward to using it over the next year.

I've found the full balance with this one. I like head light, but this is balanced. Still, it's the best one. If you hit it right, you rock it.

Excellent Racket for intermediate and advanced players. I have been playing for over 7 years and tried many squash rackets from many brands over the years. This racket is a great value buy. The racket feels very light and produces great touch control without lacking power. I has quicklky become my racket of choice over some more expensive ones.

Good racquet for people who can generate their own power but want a bit more control and feel

I purchased the Artengo SR 990 squash racquet in February 2018. A nicely balanced tear drop frame. The racquet allows fantastic control, especially when volleying and playing drop shots. The tear drop shape and string pattern also enable me to generate some serious power whenever i wish. I have been playing for over 30 years and used what are considered some of the best and most expensive racquets on the market. The Artengo SR 990 is easily as good as any racquet I have ever used and is on average less than half the price of the others. I thoroughly recommend Artengo racquets for beginners through to the highly competitive high level players. Decathlon has the Artengo racquet to suit all budgets and skills levels. I purchased my racquet from the website, the process was simple, safe and extremely efficient. The delivery time was only a few days which is awesome as I live in Western Australia.

fantastic racket. Need to change strings to adjust right tension. Once done, one of the best racket I ever played.
